The enhanced IM program is an initiative of the Australian Government.
Under the enhanced IM program, a portion of your income support payments will be deposited into your enhanced IM account. You access your enhanced Income Management account with a SmartCard. There are restrictions on enhanced IM accounts to prevent access to cash and the purchasing of alcohol, gambling, tobacco or pornography products, and specific gift and prepaid cards. The remaining portion of your welfare payment is deposited into your regular bank account.
